Canadian frame VIN

I have a Canadian 66 C10 that I need to stamp the VIN into the new custom frame. Anybody have a picture of a Canadian C10 frame VIN. From what I know the factory didn't stamp the whole VIN (as on the VIN body plate) into the frame and need to see what they included.

I believe Canadian C10 frame VIN's include the sequential number truck number but don't include things like cylinder#, series, GVW etc. The body tag VIN has more information than the frame VIN. Just not sure what to include.

Re: Canadian frame VIN

My old 67 gmc was Canadian built. It had the last 6 numbers of the vin stamped on the top of the frame rail beside the steering box.

Where in BC are you located?

That is good information thank you. Sounds like they just stamped the sequential number of your truck on the frame. I'm not far away, Port Alberni.

Re: Canadian frame VIN

I have the VIN or part of it stamped on the frame of my Oshawa, Ontario built 1965 GMC. I can try take a picture of it but it is currently in storage. I'll look to see if I have one that I have taken in the past as well. IIRC, it's stamped on the side of the frame and not the top on mine.

The Canadian GMC's were actually Chevrolets underneath with the trailing arm rear suspension and Chevrolet inline 6 or V8.

Unfortunately, due to the way the frame is currently stored I wasn't able to see the number. I looked through my photos but couldn't find anything there either. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Re: Canadian frame VIN

Why do want a picture of a Canadian C10 frame VIN stamp?

Re: Canadian frame VIN

If you made a custom frame i do not think you need to stamp anything, id keep documentation tho in case youre ever questioned.. and i live in the US so it may be a completely different set of laws
