Drum Brake part # for HO52 Eaton 10-Bolt axle
Can anyone tell me where to get the rear drum brake parts for the Eaton? Its in my k2500. The guy at auto zone looked confused and I am unable to tell if LMC has the kit for the Eaton. Thanks

What parts are you looking for? O'reilly's has shoes and wheel cylinders. You won't find any replacement drums anywhere.

Your second option is to find a 73 to mid 80s 3/4 ton rear with FF. Strip off the backing plate and all hardware with the drums. Then you would have bigger and newer style rear brakes that are usually available at most parts houses. Last edited by Dave; 08-14-2020 at 02:42 PM. |

Re: Drum Brake part # for HO52 Eaton 10-Bolt axle
Just purchased a pair of rear drums from rock auto two months ago For the HO 52 in my 69C20 2WD. When I get home I can check the Brand and part number but they are different from the brand and part number listed above. The year of your truck is important as I believe the 71/72 used as a different larger drum than the earlier trucks. I’ll check into that and get you those numbers tonight or tomorrow.

Re: Drum Brake part # for HO52 Eaton 10-Bolt axle
Thank you guys. I will look into the suggested parts. Hopefully I can find them. I just saw a post about a disc brake kit for this axle axle. I'm not sure it will work though. The entire post everyone is pleased with the way it turned out.I am not home right now and can not remember it my drums are after the hub or before. I really hope they are after. The kit wont work if they are before. Thank you for the part numbers below is the kit. But like I said not sure which one mine is. I fly home tomorrow. I think Disc would be the way to go though. You guys seen this kit?

Yes, you should have a full float rear axle (note the question you're referencing was posed about a 51 Chev). Also note that the basic kit does not provide a means for your parking brake. Parking brake calipers are an additional $200.
