Best Firewall hood hinge options
I am going to buy a set of firewall hood hinges for my 67 C-10 soon. I know of 2 pretty reputable places that look like a good product,
Porterbuilt https://pbfab.com/1967-72-chevy-truc...s-gas-assisted and Switch Suspension https://switchsuspension.com/gm-c-10...assist-struts/ Both are the same price, so this isn't going to be a deciding factor. In your experience, were there any issues with the products that you have used? Can either of them be used with a factory heater shroud in place? I have heard of Northwest Chassis Worx, https://www.facebook.com/nwchassisworx/ but I am having a hard time contacting them for information. Do you recommend any other company that has these style of hinges?

Re: Best Firewall hood hinge options
I've talked to two C10 owners who are using Switch hinges on mid-sixties C10's, and while they appear very similar, one of them told me that the Switch hinges are "more stout". Worth noting as the prices are within spitting distance of each other.

Just came across your post, did you ever decide on a set and if so did you like them?

Check out this video. Although the title is custom hood struts he discusses the firewall hinges quite a bit. Worth watching:
