Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
Looks like a 7” or maybe 6.5” wheel. No matter, should still clear calipers. 5 lug vans also had disc brakes. I’m guessing you have dropped spindles?

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
I have factory 8" rally's and was planning on drop spindles because i am currently running factory cut springs. The A arm angle is pretty bad and not sure if the alignment shop can get the front end lined up. I don't want to go with a different wheel set up. So with 15" wheels, I cant run drop spindles? Thanks in advance, Carl

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
My 15x8 fit my 70 but I have CPP brake kit from summit with 2.5 drop spindle. Those don't look deep enough to be 8 inch. I guess the picture can be deceiving.

Maybe 8 inches from wheel lip to wheel lip. Subtract 1 inch from that gives 7 inches. Rims are measured tire bead to tire bead. |

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
Maybe at sometime someone when doing a brake job put different/bigger callers on the truckand were okay with the stock rims.

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
Could those be of something like an astro van with a little too much backspacing ?
Early wheels have this fitment issue as well usually with a wider inner bulge that digs into the caliper from a drum drum truck |

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
You can run dropped spindles, just have to do a little trimming on the lower control arm. Member lowlife99 has a good write up and pictures illustrating how/where to do this. Alignment is not an issue, I’ve run them on several trucks.

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
Here is likely a dumb question. Is the lug pattern 5 x 5 or 5 x 4.75? Not sure it matters . . .

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
So the backspacing is the reason they are hitting the calipers?

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
This totally baffles me because truck rallyes only came on trucks with disc brakes.

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
i have a 1999 OBS Tahoe 4 x 2 with the Police Package. Now I've seen lots of OBS trucks with the 80's rallys on them and they fit and work great. I tried to put a set on my Tahoe and they wouldnt clear the caliper. I didn't measure the calipers but sure they are bigger than on a stock non-police OBS truck or Tahoe. Thats why I mentioned earlier in this post that maybe the calipers were changed at some time and bigger ones and maybe not from a 71-72 C10 were used.

Re: 15x8 DON'T FIT?
Nope. They came on cop cars too. Some Impala pursuit cruisers got them. But, the brake & rotor package on the large B-bodies are basically the same thing.
