Frame ???s
Can anyone tell me if mid-80s bare frames are the same....
K20 - K30 2wd - 4wd single rear wheel - dual rear wheels I have a project 1985 K20 that the front of the frame is a little tweaked. It may be easier to swap it out, since I'm going to bare frame anyway.....I just need to know what trucks I can take donors from.... Thanks a bunch.... Misled |

as far as i know theframes for 2 wheel drive are the same and the four wheel drives are the same.
What i have learned tho is if you have an older frame you can swap out the cab mount tabs in front just make sure you use the specific mounts for the frame tab when attaching your cab

Now the main frame rails on a Half ton are the same on 73 up between 2wd and 4wd of the same wheel base. What is different is what cradle and front cross members they get under the engine, radiator and what spring brackets they get. On 88 truck up they are even closer. The only real difference is if the get the bracket for the front Diff and spring hangers.
