Lug Nut Threads
What year did our trucks on the 1/2 ton go from 7/16" threads to metric. Trying to figure out what my daughter's 82 is before I check on new lug nuts for it?

i dont know that all of the trucks had metric threads. i just bought the new chrome lug nuts as i took off the standard rims and put on chevy rallye wheels on it. When i went to Pep Boys they had a lug nut catalogue there and if im not mistaken they were standard threads not metric. My 86 is a C10 custom deluxe and is pretty well a base truck. Id offer to mail ya a bunch of lugnuts but it would prolly cost more to mail em than it would for you to go to the store and buy em new

My 87 R10 uses so 1/2" RH lugnuts all the way around, so I know you'll be safe with those on your 82.
If it were a 4x4 they would be 7/16" go figure that one. Even though there's one more stud, the wheels and tires on my 84 must weigh at least 20 lbs a piece more than any of my 2wd trucks. I have no idea why they went with smaller lugs on the 4x4.

As far as I know, all 2wd trucks were 1/2" x 20 thread.
