PVC valve breathing
Trying to figure out how it’s fitting on my valve cover.
Need help on the fitting order. When I removed the cover, I heard something dropped inside the cover. When I took the cover up, this parts was laying inside on the top. |

Re: PVC valve breathing
It's broken. I recommend you replace it.
If you decide to reuse it, the order would be housing, spring, weight, bottom cover. You'll need to figure out a way to glue the bottom cover on.

[quote=Swedchevy67;8855160]Yes, it's definitely broken.. Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves aren't normally disassembled for servicing.. Yours is worn out and has fallen apart.. PCV valves are cheap and available where ever automotive parts are sold... Bought locally from O'Reillys, NAPA, etc, they cost $4 - $5.. Bought on the internet the cost could double or triple..

Re: PVC valve breathing
Looks a lot more like a spark arrestor than a pcv to me.
What hose was it attached to? |

Re: PVC valve breathing
Easy to figure out.
Which valve cover was it on and where on the carb was the hose hooked to? Pics help. |

Re: PVC valve breathing
Swedchevy67 has a '67 with inline 250.
If you have the original '67 Rochester B, there is no manifold Vacuum Port on the carb. The manifold vacuum port for the PCV is in the manifold, on the top of the 3-4 intake runner, behind the carb next to the head. A spark arrester, if used, goes between the valve cover and the air cleaner. The arrestor is between the 2nd and 3rd hose clamps. Forum pictures.
