Original Documentation thread
I purchase a 71 stepside a few years back and the owner kept some of the original paper work.
I thought it was cool to see what options cost what back in the day. My truck shows a parchment interior, but currently has black vinyl. I thought someone changed it out, but according to the order that was done at the factory. I guess you can’t totally rely on the build sheet in the glove box. Anyone else have a similar experience/paperwork? |

Re: Original Documentation thread
Looks like it came in with a Parchment interior and the buyer had the dealership change the interior out to black

Re: Original Documentation thread
Thinking the same . Dealers did this alot specially if a truck was on the lot with everything else as ordered .
I also think that the bill of sale most likely was written up after the sale . I may be wrong but would be interested in build date and date on bill of sale receipt.

Blue tag on door says 5/71 Purchase date was 5/17/71. It didn’t sit a around the lot a long time, so I’m guessing the change was at the purchasers request. Last edited by 71step35035012C10S; 01-05-2021 at 09:26 PM. |

Re: Original Documentation thread
I agree, looks like dealer swap.. too easy to print the proper spid in the factory before it left..
don't have the dealer invoice but my red 71 longhorn spid matches factory build sheet noted with "xxx customer order" as it sits today

Re: Original Documentation thread
My 71 Jimmy's SPID showed a saddle interior but every bit of it was parchment. It had been present from the beginning judging by the wear and tear.
