Metal Dealership Plaques
WTB: Looking for a nice metal dealership advertising emblem from a Chevrolet dealership from CA. for my 69 pickup. Bought my truck from the Southeast area of CA and would like a nice dealership plaque to install on it now that it is all painted. My other cars have one from the original dealership and I think they are kinda neat. I have no idea as to where this truck was sold, but it was built in CA also.

Re: Metal Dealership Plaques
I did that same thing for my restored '71 Chevelle. It was built in Arlington Tex, no idea where it was originally sold, acquired it in Newkirk, Ok years ago. Found a Quality Chevrolet, Wichita Ks. dealership trunk emblem and installed after the car was painted. That dealership is gone now but remember all the cool cars and trucks they had back in the day.
Might also try looking on the dreaded evilBay for "California dealership trunk emblems" I got a hard to find local dealership license plate frame thru eBay and it came from California of all places, LOL. That way you may get lucky enough to chose where your car came from, LOL. Good luck in your search.

Re: Metal Dealership Plaques
Only thing I could give them would be the VIN #, have never found a build sheet and car was totally blown apart during the restoration. Any idea what the cost is for a records search? Might give it a shot if reasonable but being tied to collectible Corvettes that may not be the case, LOL

Re: Metal Dealership Plaques
Sweet looking ride for sure. What engine does it have, all still original? Looks like a real time machine.

Re: Metal Dealership Plaques
I used to have a few 54 Chevys, even though the car has 58,000 actual miles with a 216, I rebuilt a 235 installed that and changed the 411 rear end for a powerglide (3:55). I also installed the power steering from the 54 as they have the same frames. It has Fenton cast iron headers with glass packs, almost to loud. As I said I tried to buy it at age 15, I'm now in my late 70's so we've been friends a long time.

Re: Metal Dealership Plaques
When did GM change from the 216 to the 235, was thinking it may have been in 53, not sure on that. Don't have a lot of experience with the sixes. I have a 57 2 door sedan getting really close to finishing in the Alternate Tinkerings section if interested. Had it since '75.
