PTO experts needed
Any body know what gear a pto meshes with on a sm 420 trans?

Third gear on the counter shaft I believe.

Got a couple myself but for the transfer case. Trying to figure if they're even worth using there.

I dunno now but I put one on my C50 and it was obvious at the time. I got the PTO from a junkyard and figured it out as I went.

Thanks guys-----I thought third but couldn't remember. My 420 is real nosy in third gear, probably was used big time as it was a search and rescue tk and a fire tk and it's the org trans 1961. I have a 67 420 to replace the org. I put all new bearings and new synchro's in the org trans. Maybe i got the pto a little too tight.
Chris---was just wondering if i should change it, not a fun job for an old man lol. kimble
