Storage Canopy
My son is starting a new project so he needs the garage space . I am thinking about getting a Canopy to put my truck under until he is done in the garage. Does anyone have any recommendations on a durable canopy, or advice on what canopy not to purchase? Thanks

Re: Storage Canopy
Based on you location, get a metal one like Versatube.

Re: Storage Canopy
That is similar to what I am looking for except I am required by city code to use a "Tarp style Canopy" as I live in a Historic District and can not have anything that appears permanent.

Re: Storage Canopy
.
Hopefully they allow you to lash it solidly to the ground via some semi-permanent method. I've seen these things around my neighborhood...Don't know the cost or whether they are "safe" for paint but dang! EDIT: picture is off Internet...not me. -klb

I have had one for 10+ years through new england winters and 100 MPH winds. Would buy again.

Re: Storage Canopy
I’ve had and still have multiple shelter logic Instant garages. As long as they are staked down the frames will last a long time. My oldest one is probably 15 years old. I have replaced the tarp twice though. The last time with a thicker material that they offer as a replacement. We get some high winds here in NJ and the problem with mine is that the zippers work there way open in high wind from bouncing and flapping to the point that they become parachutes and stretch until they get small tears. Once you get the small tears start shopping for a replacement top. I tape my zippers closed during storms now. I highly recommend them.

Re: Storage Canopy
We've got some friends in western Colorado that own a business called Weatherport.
They made everything from portable carports to Antarctic expedition shelters.

Re: Storage Canopy
Lots of these out there with steel tube pole frames and a pretty thick vinyl cover. Just make sure you get a 10x20. Stake it down good and attach the covering per instructions (dont leave anything off). Im not sure about Florida weather but up here they can sweat and drip on your truck if you dont have some air flow. They make them with windows you can unzip but they have a mesh covering underneath. Good for circulation. I think you can still order them through Costco.
