Remember, a engine with a cam that is a little small would be OK to drive around, but a engine with too big of a cam would be a real dog, especially if you have highway gears in your rearend. Call up Comp cams, and they should help you select a good cam for your truck. Good luck!

if you are planning on getting a new intake try bying some brand new vortec heads(less than $500 a pair new and they flow better than most aftermarket heads)
i bought w/p sportsman II heads and a buddy of mine bought vortec heads with pretty much the same motor and they both perform about equal. But he spent $400 less than me. just a suggestion

I agree with the cam thing...I have a cam that is a bit too big, and it makes driving it everyday kinda...interesting.
Why you wanna use smogger heads? I have some 2.02 882 smoggers in the back of my GMC, you can have them if you want...the price is right. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350.
