400 turbo kickdown solenoid

How hard is it to change out a defective kickdown solenoid in a 400 turbo tranny? This is the piece that is on the tranny itself. Just for clarification.

thanks

Not hard at all.

1. Drain pan if you have a plug, if not get a big drip pan to catch all the oil when you drop the pan

2. Drop the pan

3. Remove the filter(you might as well change this while you have it apart this far)

4. Un-hook wire for solenoid from connector in transmission.

5. Remove 2 bolts holding solenoid.

6. Install new solenoid and hook up wire Note: some take a metal shim gasket some have a built in o-ring deal.

7. Install new filter

8. Re-install pan

9. Fill with oil

10. Run and re-check fluid level and for leaks
