Help with wiper arm spring replacement
Any tips on getting the wiper arm spring attached? I tried and only managed to tear up my finger. This is for a 70 c10.

Re: Help with wiper arm spring replacement
You might try bending the spring to form a space between the coils and inserting a spacer. I have used washers for large springs. Then bend the spring the other way , insert spacer, etc. This will make spring longer each time until you enough length to hook and remove spacers.
Be careful - if spacers are not firmly griped - parts will fly. Rots of ruck. |

Re: Help with wiper arm spring replacement
I actually tried it with dimes, but I didn't think about bending it the other way. It ended up starting to coil up a bit and wasn't making it longer. I'll give it another shot though.

Re: Help with wiper arm spring replacement
How did it come off in the first place ?
Here's a video using a brake spring tool , BUT given the potential for it to come back into your face at MACH 2 sometimes the best repair is replacement . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH2EnqxzWss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dopPtWGpKsc

Re: Help with wiper arm spring replacement
Can you plant the tip of a Phillips in that rivet and pull the spring to the hole?
