WTB 1968 Chevy eyebrows, and perhaps the hood trim piece too

Where else can you post a crazy ad and know that there are folks out there that know what you mean?

Ii am looking for a good, to very good, pair of OEM Chevy eyebrows. I think they were used for only one year on the 1968 Chevy trucks. The thin ones. NOT the fatter GMC eyebrows that were used through 1972.

I am doing a full restoration and ordered a pair off of Brothers, and what came were two different pieces made by two different companies, in two different packages, with two different attaching mechanisms, and they were not even symmetrical. NOS would be super but something that will polish up nice with all the clips would be more than wonderful.

And the reproduction chrome hood piece from the same company arrived bent, so if you have a nice OEM original one I would love to hear about it.

I would not mind buying reproduction pieces if I could see them (or perhaps you have them sitting around the shop) and be reassured that the two eyebrows are at least symmetrical. And that pieces would not arrive bent. I know there are other companies who carry these items but I am going to try to find good used parts first this time.

Thanks for your help, George

This shows how the reproductions are coming from two different makers, Different bags, and different mounting clips, and different qualities. The ones from the unmarked bag seem to be much better quality. The one in the Corvex Moulding bag has the red caps on the clips. This particular moulding has what appears to be a piece cut right out of the end. It does not show up well in the photo ut that dark area on the ends of the clips (in my fingers) looks like a piece was cut right out of the end of the moulding. whereas the other one is nice and smooth.

I called Brothers and they are going to see if they can find another moulding that is from the company in the unlabelled bag. I asked them to see if they can find me the opposite one (to what I have) so I will have a matching set. Who would guess that two different companies would be making a part that is not in huge demand.

I hope it works out but I am still looking for an OEM set in the meanwhile.

I will be sure to let you know how it works out. It is always nice to be able to sort these things out. At this point all I know is that one eyebrow made by one company is substandard. Just need to find the other one. I must say that Brothers has treated me well so far. Hope a suitable part shows up.

I am still looking for some OEM fender eyebrows if anyone has a nice set. In the meanwhile I am waiting to see if I can get a good repro too./ Just trying to cover all my bases.

I am still looking for the OEM parts.
A fellow stopped by today with his original 68 so I had a chance to compare OEM vs repro. The repros are looking awful I am sorry to say. And this was the good one. The OEM is just so crisp and clean.
