Gas tank valve dilemma
I only have 1 gas tank which is the one behind my bench seat - truck came with 3 tanks as indicated by the 3 way valve next to the driver side rocker panel.
What is the best way to remove this valve and are there any problems with doing that? Or should I leave it alone? I developed a small leak in one of the positions so I am thinking about completely removing the valve |

You can remove the line that feeds the valve and connect it to the line that goes to the fuel pump or run a new line from the tank to the fuel pump.

I'm with the Bird.
A valve with no other tanks hooked up is just a problem waiting to happen. ( looks like the problem got tired of waiting if it's leaking ). If you're never going to have auxiliary tanks I'd get everything as back to original as possible. Original was simple and it worked.

I had a 74 C-10 with dual tanks. When I ran the truck on the LH tank I ran out of fuel but the gauge showed 3/4. It turned out that when the valve was in the LH tank position the gauge was reading the RH tank and was sending the return fuel from the pump back to the RH tank. I just had to stop using the LH tank and bypass the valve.
