Lmc fan shroud fitting....
Should I trim my new shroud...it seems to have a gap and doesn't fit snuggly as oem.... otherwise I was just going to zip tie or make holes and just bolt down for stability.....it's the 2 piece shroud.

Re: Lmc fan shroud fitting....
Are you sure you got the right shroud. I think there are 2 different radiator core sizes for a 350. The manual trans has a smaller core.

Re: Lmc fan shroud fitting....
I forgot to mention this radiator is an aftermarket brand....my old radiator was bigger in dimensions..no big deal I just went ahead and trimmed edges to where it would seat down some...guess main thing is securing it down good to make the tunnel for fan suction.

Re: Lmc fan shroud fitting....
I have found the aftermarket radiators don't fit exactly like the originals. I ordered a radiator for one of my trucks and it was 1/4" taller than the GM one, I found a way to make it fit. Also the rubber mounts would not fit, I had to carve them out slightly longer to get them over the radiator.
I ordered a 2nd radiator (exact same part number) 1 year later for another truck. This time it was the stock height but the core was thinner than the one previous one i bought. I still needed to carve out some rubber on the mounts to get it to fit. |
