Shock alignment
I bought a new set of Monroe shocks for the 62. Has anyone had this Problem? Should I just force them into position or is there another issue?

What does the new shock look like next to the old one? Is the bottom bolt bent?

Looks like a 63-72 crossmember and control arms, is that the original '62 X-frame? Maybe the original '62 upper shock mounts? '63 up frames used a single stud on the frame rail to mount the upper shock, so it seems like someone crossmember swapped a '62 frame and the upper mount doesn't match up with the '63 up shock location.

That is a 63 front cross member on the 62 X frame. It sounds like I will need to get new upper shock mounts. I am not sure how the original 62 shocks mounted. What are other front X member swaps using for the front shocks?

It will look really out of wack because you are at full droop. The misalignment isn't anywhere near as bad sitting at ride height. Worry not.
I relocated mine, with a 2" pancake:

Oh, I'll have to check that too, I have the same conversion. The 62 has the bolt on the lower control arm, the 63 has the pocket for the shock absorber

It looks like Skinny G was right. when I raised the A frame to ride height it lined up. My next question is should there be that much deflection through the travel?
