Is it possible to cut rear coil springs and recurve the pig tail?

I was thinking about doing this, how much to cut off is an issue, 1 - 2 coils? I would like to get a 4 -5 inch drop when it is finished.

I would put the coils in a bucket of water to keep the other part cool.

Has anyone done this? Were you successful, or did you wreck a pair of springs.

I know we can buy dropped coils cheaply but this would be even cheaper.

When it come to ride and safety, is cheaper the best choice? I think GMC Pauls have the lowered springs for $90. Its up to you, but why risk it?

you could cut them then use a torch to redo the pigtails then put the springs in your 50,000dollal furnace and retemper them me i spent the 100 bucks and got new ones

yea cutting springs isnt smart nor is it safe hmm 100 bucks or wreck the truck thats a toughy
