Oh man, you might be the perfect person for me to talk to about this.

So here is my question, and maybe your wife can help me find this answer. I have 72 C10, and was reading about the inspections for different types of vehicles. Passenger, trucks, antiques, street rods, and CUSTOM vehicles.

Street rods do not require bumpers, but must be 1949 or older,
Custom vehicles must be 40 years old or older, and state there are modifications to body and chassis that are away from the manufactured state.

My truck does not have bumpers but have front and rear roll pan instead. I am told this will fail inspection, but if it was registered as custom vehicle, could I get away with just roll pans? THOUGHTS? I really don't want to buy bumpers right now just to be able to drive it around from time to time.

Any help is appreciated.

Both of the other guys are from NH and are longtime members, "best view" is probably making some kinda inside joke. Don't take it the wrong way.

Re: Any one here from NH???

I am in NH too but have no idea about the inspection question. Unfortunately I also sold my truck but if there is a get together, would love to meet. If you are in Bedford (I am in New Boston) in the summer, you should stop by Murphy's Tap House on 101 on Sunday afternoon. They have a nice, small cruise in there. Very casual and lots of nice cars and trucks!

I am from NH as well, i know of trucks with roll pans that get inspected with regular plates. I would just ask the inspection staition before you bring it to them, there are plenty that will pass it. you would not get harrassed from DOT for roll pan bumpers.
