Is this really a 67 K10 on BAT?

I can understand that anyone can build any sort of truck they want out of any conglomeration of parts, but it seems a far stretch to be calling this a 67 and ALSO calling it a 67K10. The only thing about it that say "67" is the cab because it has a small back window. Even the VIN tag is from a 2 wd truck. Not a slantnose for sure. I’m really partial the front clip of the 67-68 models.

The small back window and the manual choke indicates a '67, but the rest is definitely from a '69 or a '70. Probably a Frankentruck.

Well, maybe your comment will educate some potential buyers, but it pays to educate yourself on these trucks. I have built several "frankentrucks " and am building one now. I just know that when the time comes to represent it for sale, it pays to be honest in the description. We just saw this a few threads ago with the K10 "Super" on ebay.

I see the seller addresses the comments on the body parts issues but, does not address the VIN. Hopefully others see your comments also.

Why would they go to all the trouble to put it on an auction site and not even put door panels on it!?
Lots of things incorrect for a 67. I’d say more 69/70 parts than 67.
2wd vin should be clearly stated too

So many trucks I see on BaT have had the VIN plate tampered with.

This one at least has the rosette rivets and title that matches. But, the rest of the truck, not so much.

There is no evidence that the VIN has been tampered with (rosettes still there, paint buildup around the plate), and the seller admits it is a 67 cab with 69 everything else. The cab might even belong on the frame, who knows. Lots of people get started with a few mods and end up turning their 2wd into a 4wd.

What I am saying is I have definitely seen worse on BAT when it comes to our trucks. The problem is, a lot of people use what they have on hand when building a truck, or they intentionally are creating something unique. Then when it is time for it to be sold they pretend it is stock.

For me personally, it seems like such a waste of a 67 cab when any 68-72 cab would do. Not knocking the truck itself, though, it looks like it'd be fun to own.

I am guessing that not all folks care if their VIN plate actually describes the vehicle they are purchasing. And one would think that a huge operation like BAT would be more interested. But I need to mind my own beeswax.I agree with you about the 67 cab. If you have one why not build the rest of the truck to be a 67? But everyone can do whatever they want.

The fact that the cab does not match the rest of the truck was acknowledged by the seller only when you commented upon/challenged it. We can't know if there was an actual attempt to deceive, though, since I doubt that the seller actually writes the flowery description that we read when we look at the auctions.

I was just thinking, a 383 with a SM465 and 456 gears? And 40 inch tires? I don't think the new owner will need the 160mph speedo. That truck will scream just going to the grocery store.

I guess he's calling it a '67 because that's the VIN on the cab and title. It's already all painted nice, but someone could put it back to looking like a '67 if the wanted. That looks like a real nicely built turn-key truck, and obviously a built truck. Certainly not one for someone concerned with originality. Could be on a Post-72 chassis. Both rear shocks face forward, so maybe not. Maybe the person who custom built the truck likes the look of the '69 front end. Or maybe it was a '69 K/10 with a really bad cab. I can't knock this truck. It looks like a really well done one. I can't load picture, like pictures from a magazine
