Temp Sending Unit for Speedhut gauge?

Hi Folks,

I need to replace the TSU on my '67 C10. It has a Speedhut instrument panel installed by the prior owner. My mechanic tried two different ones from the parts store and both apparently ran the gauge up really high soon as they were hooked up.

Emailed Speedhut today and they said I should buy one of theirs for $18, which is ok but the shipping is $12 or more, so $30 for a TSU which seems a little expensive.

Is there a more generic type that I could just pick up locally that would work or should I just get the Speedhut one?

Thanks, Sam

If you like the gage?
I would buy the sending unit.
You would probably have trouble finding one you would trust to work correctly with the gage.

If you plan to swap it back to the original.
I would buy a (parts store) gage and use it.

Just my 2 Cents.
