Us indy slots u101 blanks 17 x 9

I am wanting to run the Indy slots on my 1972 Blazer. It has new stock height springs and shocks. I know they offer a 15 x8 six lug wheel that will fit32-33 inch by 12.5 with the 4"backspacing. My question is has anyone ran the 17 x 9 inch with the 3.74" back spacing? If they do fit, I can only find these wheels in blanks. In researching these it looked like they used to be offered by a guy selling 6 lug by 5.5 on ebay a few years back. His site no longer exist on ebay. Has anyone ever had blank wheels machined out. What is all involved, and how much should I expect to pay to have this done?

As I just mentioned on another thread, you may have a difficult time finding a machine shop that will do it due to liability. Tell them it's for racing only, then the onus is on you if something should ever happen.
As far as cost, I would probably charge around $300 for 4 rims.

Ah, Covington Ohio brings back memories. I went to a metal shaping course there hosted by Ron Covell years ago. It was held at a restoration shop that specialized in making hand formed body panels for the 1930 Cords. I forgot the name of the shop.

Edit; It was here----> https://www.ddclassic.com/

Thanks for your reply hemi43. I like the look of the taller 17" rim, but I don't think it is worth all the time and extra expense involved when you include the machining of the rims and tires also cost quite a bit more than the 15".

As far as D&D classics, they do awesome work on cars they ship all over the world. Not my cup of tea but I do appreciate the work that goes into them.

if anyone has pictures of 17" slots running 32" or 33" on a stock height truck, I would love to see pictures.

Re: Us indy slots u101 blanks 17 x 9

72k, I talked to a US Mags rep a couple weeks ago at The Reun10n. He said if you are ordering the blanks- just tell Discount Tire or Summit or whoever the dealer is that you want them drilled at the factory- it will take an extra 2 weeks or so to get them done but they didn't charge me any extra to do it (well, thus far) I told them it was for a 71 K5 4wd 6 x 5.5- -now I am wondering if I should make sure they get the center bore size right- Hope that helps, Good Luck!

This is good to know. By chance did you discuss the center cap option? I belie they don't offer a cap to fit the larger center hole. I could be wrong. If you would post a picture after you get your wheels and tires mounted.

Will do- I'm not planning on putting them on the the old girl till next year, (exercise in patience) but of course, will test fit upon arrival and snap a picture.
I did not discuss center caps as I wasn't really planning on running them anyways- I may call them back and ask.

Re: Us indy slots u101 blanks 17 x 9

Just to recap a few things for people who may search on this topic down the road. It is considerable more expensive to go with the 17" over the 15" wheels.

The 17" x 9" cost $294 each or $1,176 for a set of 4
compared to
15" x 8" cost $217 each or $868 for the set
15" x 9" blanks are only $188 a piece $752 for the set if it doesn't cost anything to have drilled out to fit.
15" x 10" cost $242 a piece/ $968 for the set.

The tires are as expensive to go with the 17"

17" x 33" x 12.5" $1,424
17" 32.8" X 11.5" $ 1052 (285/70/17)
15" x 33" x 12.5" $1,016
15" x 32" x 11.5" $940
