Factory 16×6 versus 16×8 comparison
Just got my wheel vintiques 16×8s put on...much better with the 285/75 tires IMO..I think the 6" wheels need a skinny tire to look correct...opinions please
First pic is the 16×6 Last edited by 52napco; 05-04-2022 at 05:33 PM. |

Re: Factory 16×6 versus 16×8 comparison
The new wheel/tire combo looks great on your Burban!
A few questions: 1.Is this the 12 series smoothie? 6 or 8 lug? 2.Wasn't sure if you meant to post before/after pics if you were running 16x6 prior? 3.How did you attach your dogdish caps? 4.I think your new wheel/tire combo comes to just about 33 inches tall for overall diameter? 5.Any mods to your suspension or stock height?

4" lift...first pic is before with 16×6 wheels...It's a K20 so they're 8 lug 82 series with the nubs for caps...took 4 months to get them and they've gone up $40 each since I ordered them.

Re: Factory 16×6 versus 16×8 comparison
As far as proper fitment goes, a 6" wheel is a tad narrow for the 285/75-16s. I think 7" is the narrowest recommended wheel. Not that I haven't run them on 6" and 6 1/2" wheels. I like both looks. I run that tire size on 8" Series 82s on my '72 K2500 Sierra and on 7" Accurides on my '95 K2500 Suburban. I haven't tried the set on 7" wheels on my '72 yet, but I prefer each set as they are on the vehicles they're on best I think. I think I like the 8s best on your Suburban
