1967 Short Bed Long Term Build
I’m headed down this road again…My previous project was a much better candidate, but alas this is the where I’m at.
It a 67 Small Back window cab. I have all the panels. And a lot of parts, the boxes you never know. Someone “started” on it a while ago. Going to go LS/6spd semi-pro touring. I wanna have a nice driver that’ll run when called too. I’m doing bodywork on the cab right now. If the link works more pictures to come.

What suspension do y’all recommend?
Looking at qa1 & HOTCHKIS. With 2” drop spindles and discs all around.

Re: 1967 Short Bed Long Term Build
Regarding your question about qa1 or Hotchkis, you don't mention any part numbers and the pictures are two very different setups. Maybe let us know which specific kits/functionally/budget you are looking at, and we can weigh in.
I can say that I have the qa1 coilover front end, without the subframe and rack and pinion in the picture you shared, with sway bar, disc brakes, and drop spindles. It works great for what I wanted. I don't think the rear end setup they offer is worth the cost. I'd look at no limit for a rear coilover setup. The Hotchkis pictured looks to use the factory shock and spring locations, it may or may not have the steering geometry improvements of the Qa1. |

Re: 1967 Short Bed Long Term Build
Like skidmore said, let us know some more about what you really want out of the truck. I'd honestly look really hard at the no limit set up before spending money on any of the other mentioned kits. Rob has been building these trucks to tear up the auto cross for quite some time. I'm putting on one of their "wide ride Chassis pack's" on my long bed currently and it's been very straightforward and a well made kit. They are also very easy to talk to on the phone should you ever have questions.
https://nolimit.net/store/Wide-Ride-...-C10-p67918179 Kit comes with options of coil overs, brake upgrades, choice of bolt pattern, spindles, sway bar, rack and pinion etc etc. You can also omit or add on whatever you want, just give them a call, they also offered a forum discount when I ordered in 2020. For what it's worth, they use a different spindle which Rob says is based off a late model impala, which improves steering geometry. An off the shelf wilwood or baer kit wont work when looking up kits for a C10. But both brands have kits that work, you just have to call them and they have part numbers to order directly through them, I was talking to both via e-mail two weeks ago about which way I want to go on my set up.

Re: 1967 Short Bed Long Term Build
Been a busy year. Put the truck on hold for a while so I could build a shop to work in. My wifee wanted her indoor parking spot back before winter. But the shop is built and I’m making progress. Still got sheet metal work to do, but I’ve got the trans, motor, and cam waiting. My goal is to have it running this year. There are so many parts it needs; I’m going to not hyper focus on the bodywork, just get the rust fixed and the worst dents. And start putting the truck back together.
Pics to follow as so as I remember how to post them.

Amazing shop! That was well worth putting the truck on hold for a bit.
Now you can really get things done.

Nice job on the shop space! Looks like you have a good grip on what the truck needs.
Good luck, Rg
