64 Chevy with a 72+ front rotors needs rotors with long studs

Hello,

Is anyone aware of front rotors that would fit a 72 - 78 C-10, 5 x 5 inch bolt pattern, and 1/2 " x 20 diameter studs whereby the studs are long (about 3 inches)?

I am asking because the setup on my 64 is based on 72 - 78 rotors with the 3 inch studs, wheel spacers, and ROX aftermarket wheels. I inherited this from the prior owner.

The rotors are toast now. I have not been successful with web searches trying to find rotors with long studs. I have communicated with Summit. They cannot tell, like I cannot, from website images what the stud length is on various rotors. Also, both Summit and I noticed that there is no mention made of stud length in the website rotor descriptions.

The problem I bump up against with shorter studs is that the ROX hub cap cannot sit flush on the wheel due to dust cap interference. The longer studs and the wheel spacer would negate that problem.

I am open to all ideas.

Edward

Buy aftermarket 3" studs for your new rotors. Summit has them - manufactured by Moroso and others. If you can't find a 3" stud with the proper knurl for your rotors, the rotors can be drilled to spec by a machine shop.

What Mike suggested is most likely what the previous owner did

Yeah, I tend to press in aftermarket racing studs.

Thanks all for the replies.

I have been thinking about purchasing a press for quite some time now. It sounds like this is the time to do it.

Much obliged.
