Short and to the point
Truck caught on fire. Slowly rebuilding. I was told that I need a carburetor throttle kit or something from Jeg's or Summit Racing. Can someone tell me the part number and the exact name of the part I need?
Thank you in advance. J

Re: Short and to the point
Sorry to hear about the fire. I hope no one was hurt and the truck wasnt damaged to bad. Do you need a transmission detent cable as I see the end of one in your photo? But it looks like a carburetor throttle shaft in your hand.
They do make seals for some carbs for that. If its a detent cable what trans do you have?

Re: Short and to the point
No it is the one that goes on the carburetor. I went from Q-Jet to an Edelbrock. The replacement throttle doesn't fit on the throttle lever peg (no sure about the exact name). The truck is a 72 Cheyenne short bed. 350/350. The passing gear never worked.

Re: Short and to the point
OP
This is the carb stud I put on my Edekbrock to mate with my accelerator linkage on my 67 Camaro. Sold at the usual places, Summit, etc I think its this one but it says for trans... https://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/8018/10002/-1# Also might want to put in a fire extinguisher in case.... |

And a question for the op.
Have you had it running since the fire? Last edited by geezer#99; 07-29-2022 at 11:48 AM. |

Re: Short and to the point
Op said he put in a Edelbrock carb...I just showed him the trans stud I used for the kickdown cable I see in his pic
Assuming the ball stud in his pic no longer fits in the slot end of his cable There is a variety of ball and slot studs that may work. Some may require slight enlarging of the hole in carb lever My accelerator rod fitting worked on my Eddy. Not seeing what OP has but my pic shows how both accelerator and Kickdown are attached to the Eddy carb OP Google Edelbrock carb throttle stud and see what comes up for your application. without a cable but will not kickdown for passing. Which ever stud for the carb he needs you two have him covered. Wish he would have given more info and better photos. Oh well we do what we can.

Your response for a carb the OP said he didn't have was "confusing" JayE72 Re: Short and to the point No it is the one that goes on the carburetor. I went from Q-Jet to an Edelbrock. |

Re: Short and to the point
Tried in post #5...hard to see in his pic (blurry) the part on his throttle rod end. I assume that is what he needs to connect to his Edelbrock carb. My pic shows what my linkage does. Not sure if the ball stud in his pic talks to the kickdown lever or if thats even on a Eddy carb...which is why I also posted that stud
OP has not come back but here is link to various Eddy adapter linkage parts. Maybe the 9141 is what he needs?? https://www.summitracing.com/search/...on%3Aedelbrock |
