tranny pan ground clearance

i know this probably should be in engine/drivetrain, but my computers says that server is down. heres the question, does anyone with a 4/6 drop know what the ground clearance of the transmission pan is? or what would be even better(becuase i am considering one) the ground clearance of an extra capacity pan? for a th-400 if that makes any difference.

liquid avation form a gasket sealer...comes in a little white bottel
with a brush.....kick butt stuff....no silicone in your trans ...

WHere do you get it from? I cannot seem to make that pan stop leaking either. You only used a liquid, no gasket of rubber or cork or anything?

napa sell's it....used the rubber gasket

ok, thanks i thought they hung down a lot lower, so it looks like im Ebay cruising. by the way, looks very nice under there.

i get the real thick cork gaskets from tranny shops the ones that parts houses sell suck .. try coatin the gasket with grease before you install it that helps also check all holes for straightness might have to pen them like on an oil pan or valve cover.

Sometimes transmission pan gaskets are the hardest to get to seal.

If your looking for a great sealer, you should try Honda-Bond. Its absolutley great on everything and it "kind-of" sticks things together and seals like nothing else. It's a silver-grey color so it matches aluminum stuff. It's a little thick and you just brush it on with your finger.

You can also try Yahma-bond. It's close but it's a little thinner.

Not kidding about these. We use them on our race engines for all of the covers. You can get it at the honda dealership.
