Anybody replace polyurethane bushings with bronze?

..or maybe delron? I am on my second set already and they do not seem to hold up on the lower control arm. I was thinking about going with something a bit stronger. Just curious if anybody has tried anything else.

Swap to 63-72 arms/shafts with your year ball joints installed. The shafts have very stout "bushings"- they're threaded steel that match up to threaded ends on the shaft. They don't wear out if you keep grease in them, and they have zero deflection. Much better design than the 73-87 bushings and they're dirt cheap on rockauto.


I took these out of my '66 C10 that has 150k miles, they have no wear- the peak of the threads are still square.

This, I have these on my lowers and will replace the uppers next time I'm into the suspension

Thanks for the replies, but I have an aftermarket front end and I was more concerned about wear and abuse on a bronze bushing vs. polyurethane.

After doing some research, I decided to go with a much harder polyurethane bushing than what was available from the aftermarket polyurethane manufacturers. It should wear a lot better.
