Vin Number 3 (Cab and Chassis)
Went to look at an interesting truck today. The digit that usually has a 4 for pickup has 3 (designating cab and chassis). Does this mean this was sold as a truck to become a flatbed or utility body or something. It’s currently a short fleet. Chassis is not cut. It’s a well optioned truck, has Air and Tach as well as Cheyanne package. Interesting truck. Just wondering exactly what the “cab and chassis” designation meant. Thanks.

Yes. Or have a flatbed installed (farmer), or if they were long bed frame or extended frame, could be made into a camper

Re: Vin Number 3 (Cab and Chassis)
My guess is the body is off a cab and chassis truck and put on a short wheel base chassis. If you don't care if the chassis numbers matches the cab its no big deal.
