Dash Pad Clips - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was taking my old..torn dash pad off over the weekend and did find one clip beyond the glove box but where were the others located to take off?

There are a bunch of screws along the front of the dash pad, then a bunch on the underside of the pad; you'll have to go in from underneath. It's damn near impossible to get them without taking out the guages and glovebox unless you have Ethiopian arms.

I hope you have a 1/4 in drive socket set with extensions and u-joints.It makes it much easier to loosen the nuts on the pad.Make sure you tighten the new one evenly or the pad will have hills and valleys.

Oh yeah....forgot to mention that the front attaches with coarse thread phillips head screws. Studs poke down from the dash pad through the top of the dash, and attach with speed nuts (sheet metal type). At the very least, take the dash out as that's pretty easy. Good luck.
