Well that’s disappointing !
Took my seat apart on my 68 stepper . Got a little excited seeing the original under the recover . Back is in great shape but the seat bottom must have been ripped so they cut out the damage but on the bright side the foam is perfect . And I look at the replacement and it’s the right color but wrong . The original was embossed the new one is pleated. Not a big deal since I’m going to add carpet instead of the rubber mat. The red is because I set up my canopy in my barn . Able to heat it and not worry about snow load .

Re: Well that’s disappointing !
Going to need some foam .Seat skin is way to loose on it I used the original little clips to hold it temporarily into the frame .

Re: Well that’s disappointing !
Go to joann fabrics and get some Dacron/ polyester padding , Allow it to roll over the edges , You can use a hair dryer / heat gun on the low setting to help ease wrinkles , Don't over heat the vinyl . if it's too hot to hold your hand in the heat it's too hot for the vinyl

Re: Well that’s disappointing !
I found the proper thickness spring wire at a hobby shop in 3 foot pieces and hand bent the new springs. Mine were the ones on the edge of the seat. I think it is 3/16". Real fun to bend.

Re: Well that’s disappointing !
A hair dryer on high is safer than a heat gun on low. Takes a little longer, but won't overheat the vinyl.
