Fuel sending unit.
I bought a new fuel tank from oreillys it came with a new lock ring and gasket, I am having trouble finding the correct fuel sending unit. It seems that all the ones they have are universal style ones and I am getting confused as to which one will fit my tank. Does anybody have the part# to buy? Thanks

Re: Fuel sending unit.
Here's a couple links, but you'll need to provide year, make, and model...

Re: Fuel sending unit.
Thanks rusty. I will have to go look to see if mine is bolt in or lock in style.

Re: Fuel sending unit.
If the new sending unit has a brass float, replace the float with a Jeep plastic float before installation.. The brass floats are infamous for leaking in a short time.

Re: Fuel sending unit.
You haven't provided enough information for me to provide an accurate answer. In your first post, you said the tank "Came with a lock ring and gasket". Look closely at what you have.. Lock ring type uses a large O ring. Bolt in type senders use a flat gasket.. If your replacement tank is stock for '67 - '72, the tank takes a lock ring type sender.. Under any event, choose a 90 ohm sender for the make, model, year of the tank, not the vehicle the tank is in.

Re: Fuel sending unit.
Okay I got it figured out. It is the ring style with the brass float. The confusion I had was the parts store was trying to sell me a universal one that is incorrect. I will order the proper one from a supplier.
