1967-1972 Chev/GMC Truck Assembly Manual
So finally got an official 67-72 Factory Assembly manual. Its thick and loaded with info but finding the specific info you want is very time consuming as there is no index of whats where in it. Anyone have any info or ideas to find something quickly in the manual.

Re: 1967-1972 Chev/GMC Truck Assembly Manual
There is an index circulating around here, somewhere. I downloaded it years ago, but can't find the link, now. I don't think that a spreadsheet will load as an attachment, but I'll give it a shot.
Guess not. Somebody else should be able to load it?

Just downloaded the manual but it seems the columns on the index don't match. How do you read the index?

You see "doc.google.com" in the URL. You need to logon to google with your account. Then you can select "File" in the spreadsheet menu and select "Download". you can download as .xls OR .pdf. The options are locked until you login to google. j

Thanks, but I downloaded it quite awhile back. I didn't remember where from.

Re: 1967-1972 Chev/GMC Truck Assembly Manual
Member CS1972 created a PDF version of the factory assembly manual that is free to download. It allows you to do text searches, which makes it way easier to find stuff.

+1 on the FSM being essentially a brick. I also got a copy of the spreadsheet from Steve and do not see how it correlates with anything
These repop FSM apparently do not have index. Same issue with my 1st gen Camaro |

Re: 1967-1972 Chev/GMC Truck Assembly Manual
While the images and info in the Repop FSM is valuable, without being able to have a readable index it is very tedious to find what you need. It has no page #'s to cross reference using an auxiliary spreadsheet index is...well.
The Haynes or Chilton manuals while not as detailed as an FSM, for me usually give me enough 411. The Haynes one is around $25 available at places like Amazon. Fortunately for any 50+ year old vehicle, there are forum specific sites like this with very helpful members. |

Re: 1967-1972 Chev/GMC Truck Assembly Manual
The assembly pages are often random, and repetitive.
I have the index in a Word doc if needed. You get to spend perhaps an hour numbering every other page for 1065 pages, yikes. Quote:
