Ok kids, roadtrip time

Made my yearly trek sown south again recently with stops in KS, MO, OK and Texas. Left in a nice MN blizzard as usual. Wouldn't have it any other way i guess.
Stayed in northern MO the first night where i met up with a truck guy in lenexa the next morning and also picked up my radio and 2 speakers i had refurbished not far from the first guy.
Hit up a new junkyard in southern MO later that day and got a few parts there. Next morning was thunder and heavy rain so i killed time before hitting another yard in KS. grabbed a few small parts there also. Finally off to OK to hit up another couple of yards and find some more goodies.
Finally off to the decatur swap meet. Weather was cool but WAY better turn out than last year. And yep, found a few parts there also.
Last stop was down to dallas and meet up with Dave (35boulder on the board here) and check out his nice 69 shorty and wipe him out of all of his extra parts. Well worth the trip and super nice guy.
Trailer is still empty at this point since the 67-72 pickings are getting tougher all the time so back to OK to pick up a couple of newer beds i found earlier. Can't go home with an empty trailer ya know.
On with the pics, Enjoy.

Re: Ok kids, roadtrip time

Onward with the junkyard pics. I know there are a few non 67-72 pics, but still pic worthy. Forgot my camera in the truck at the first yard. Probably around 15 67-72s there.

I was surprised at how many 67s i found this year. I think that truck was hauled in without the frame.

Re: Ok kids, roadtrip time

Old yards like those with cool cars are pretty much non-existent in the north anymore, looks like a little drive south was well worth it! Cool pictures.

What came from the yard in MO, and where is it, if you don't mind sharing.

Some pretty decent parts, but the 67-72 stuff was a little tougher to find this year.

There are still a few good yards up north. Found a couple in WI recently that look good but haven't been able to pick them yet.

Some hubcaps, a nice 72 door and a couple of fenders. It was just outside of carthage. The yard has been closed for years. I got his number and he met me there and walked me through it.

Nice to have met you Eric while you were here. Glad we got the parts to you. Looks like you had a successful drive home. Look forward to seeing you again.

Thanks for the answer. Doesn't sound like it's worth following up.

Looks like an awesome trip and nice weather once you got a bit more to the south. Thanks for sharing.

He is a little tough to get ahold of, but he has some parts there. It was quite overgrown also.

Most [regular] people would look at this and see scrap metal. To me it’s beautiful.
