door jamb switch on '68 cab
My cab doesn't have the raised pad for the door jamb switch. Has anyone successfully just drilled and tapped the jamb in the approximate same location as the raised pad? Will this work or does the switch need to be angled? Thanks

Re: door jamb switch on '68 cab
Here is a link to how I did mine. Scroll to post 225.
I think the lack of the angle in the jam is why I had to cut the switch shorter. After the fact I learned the switch should have slid in on itself and automatically adjusted to the correct height. Pushing the switch at an angle side loaded the plunger and it didn't self-adjust. Otherwise they work good if you keep them lubed. The aftermarket switches I used have a tendency to corrode. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=698377&page=9

Thank you for the reply HO455. What did you lube them with?

I've been using Fluid Film. But any light oil would work. I avoid WD-40 for things like this as it will eventually evaporate.
