Wheel Stud Knurl Diameter? 72 C/10
I need to replace the studs in my 72 C/10 rear axles with longer ones. Does anybody know what the factory knurl diameter is on the 1/2 x 20 studs? Thanks...

Re: Wheel Stud Knurl Diameter? 72 C/10
Rear stud (610- 138) is a .535 knurl with a 1-17/32 length. Nothing jumping out at me for a longer length.
front number (610-159) comes in at a .620 knurl with a length of 1-5/8''. With that one I don't see anything longer that will work without a significant increase in knurl diameter. but those are the factory part numbers My reference is an old Dorman book (about 25 years old) when they used to actually put specs in print and was accurate |

Re: Wheel Stud Knurl Diameter? 72 C/10
Thank you KW! I'm looking at Moroso 1/2 x 20 x 3" studs at Speedway, they come in a variety of knurl diameters, .594" .615" & .685" ... I'll pull an axle and press one out to verify... I just bought a set of Weld Wheels "Draglite's" that require 2-1/2" studs to meet NHRA rules. Thanks again!

Curious if you come up with anything. I’m looking for 3” .535 knurl for my rears as well

Re: Wheel Stud Knurl Diameter? 72 C/10
I measured mine at .524" knurl, 1.47" length. The hole only measured .504" So, unless I can find something close to .524 I'll drill the axles... I wound up buying the Moroso 46185 wheel studs, 1/2x20 .594" knurl, 3" long and a 37/64 drill... Those Weld Wheels are an 1-7/16" thick through the holes! 15 x 12 Draglites w/7.5" backspace.

Re: Wheel Stud Knurl Diameter? 72 C/10
looks like long aftermarket ARP, etc studs don't come in a .535 knurl....seems the long stuff is for aftermarket axles...or drill out current axles for larger knurl sizes available in longer lengths
