Adding AC high pressure switch on service port - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi all I've searched high and low with no luck. I want to add a high pressure switch on my AC. I'm charged and don't want to open things up if I don't need to. The only place I can add one is on the high side port where I hook the gages. Is there an adaptor I can use for this. It's 134 ports.

R134a quick coupler with 1/4 sae side port. Look up R134a adapters on Amazon. IMO eventually a leak at the quick connect o ring.

Thanks for that, I hadn't looked in that direction. I had hoped for a screw in fitting/adaptor but that may not be possible with the schrader valve in place. I have ran this setup without the high pressure switch but I have also had what I am guessing is teh high pressure relief valve on my compressor "open". I didn't know there was one on there but that is all I have been able to sort out. I have a new compressor. It is strange but I was trying to avoid this again.

If your compressor tripped on the internal switch you might want to put a set of gauges on the system and re check your pressures. May be overcharged. Make sure you have good airflow over the condenser when checking it. Box fan etc.
