What C30 dually wheels are these?

Can anyone tell from the terrible picture what wheels (split ring, 2 piece widow maker, etc.) are on this '68 C30 Cab & Chassis dually? Tires (not sure why it uploaded the tire picture upside down) are 7.5-16LT tube type.

Also, is that an HO72 rear axle? GVW is 10000 lbs. on the door tag.

Truck is in CA and I'm in AZ so access is very limited.

I just found this equally bad picture of the front wheel. Any insights into it's identity would be really helpful. I'm trying to get things set up to get it running again. It's been sitting for a long time...

Wow, nice truck! 327 is awesome! What trans? And welcome to the Board! I'd guess that would be an HO72 axle...

Nice truck, and the '68 327 is one of Chevy's best small blocks ever made.

What are you going after? Do you need another matching wheel or just need info on the set on there? All the OEM 16" 8-lug wheels, single or dual, were split rim in this era. up till disc brakes in '71, the studs are 7/16" and use flat back castle type lug nuts, so no spreader plate as found on all '71-ups.

I'm trying to determine if the wheels are of the Firestone RH5 degree (aka widomaker) type split wheel where the wheel is split down the middle and clamps together along a 1/8" flange at the middle. I'm hoping they are the split ring variety (aka Budd 5 degree). On these the rim is essentially one piece except for one of the beads which is a split ring that is hammered down into the bead area and holds the tire on once there is some pressure. The split rings appear to still be servicable, the widowmakers not so much. Thanks

Budd type. Just the ring. Safe enough if you do it right

Re: What C30 dually wheels are these?

I thought the split rim type wheels WERE called the widow makers. Came to work one day after school to the station I worked at and saw a hole in the roof above the tire machine. Boss was airing up a tire he had just repaired and bent over to get the tire hammer when the ring let go a punched a hole in the roof. He was pretty shaken up. After that he aired them up with the leg of the lift across the rim

Can you post a photo of a front wheel. That almost looks like the split in the middle "widow maker" style from that one photo.

This explains it pretty well.

George-I don't have any better pictures until I go back out in a few months.
