cruise on L83 swap

67 Suburban with 2018 L83, 4l60E trans, trans X controller, dual air. Runs good, 20 mpg cruising 70-75 with AC on.
Problem: Dakota Digital Cruse control works but surges and hunts. DD not any help, last suggestion was have the accelerator reprogrammed. I would have tried that if I could find anyone in South Texas that had a clue what that is. Anyone had this problem and found a cure?

Ive never heard about programming the accelerator pedal... the pedal is nothing more than a potentiometer... Another member here had rosta or rastra .. probably spelled it wrong, but he had that setup on his swap. Im sure a search will turn up his post... I dont know why after market just seems to suck when it comes to simple solutions like this.
on hptuners site someone ran the OEM bcm + brake pedal sensor and cruise switch and said it worked aswell.

I have it on my L83. I think what they are saying is changing the way the gas pedal reacts. GM has tendency to make their pedals very touchy with the pedal coming on pretty fast. On the stock ECM, you can change how the pedal reacts so it only opens X amount at 10% pedal etc. The guy that tuned my truck adjusted the pedal, but I am not sure what he did. It seems to work a lot better now especially on smooth flat roads.

Thanks, that seems to be what I need, only problem is down here is is finding a tuner that doesn't look at you like a chicken watching a card trick when you try to explain what you want

Re: cruise on L83 swap

I have a guy that can probably do it, but you must have HP Tuners to load the tune into your truck. I am guessing if you had that, you could probably make the adjustment yourself.

Either way, if you want the guys name, drop me a PM.
