Help with mounting '72 bumper lights.
Mine are mounted all funky from the previous owner. The two assemblies have the notches on the top right so the left lens don't fit. Only three screws are the same. Then the previous owner used washers to mount also. This is all the mounting hardware used. Somethings wrong.
The lenses have six holes. Four to mounts the lens. What about the top two? Thanks again all. |

Re: Help with mounting '72 bumper lights.
Not sure how much help I'll be. There is a right and left for both the lens and the assembly. The "3" screws are the right ones, and there are 4 per lens. PO probably stripped out the holes and used what ever he had on hand. Good luck

Re: Help with mounting '72 bumper lights.
The park lamp housing’s top positions onto the top of the front bumper’s ledge. Each housing mounts to the bumper using two #2 phillips pan head screws with spin star washers, inserted from below. The screw threads are #10-24 x 3/8.
• Each housing’s bottom takes a rubber bumper inserted from the front, for contacting the front bumper’s inside. Replacement bumpers sold through the internet are of poor design, and don’t work anyway. Use part #4081765. • Each harness plugs into a respective boot connector on the forward lamps harness, inserted through the core support. • Each park lamps lens mounts with a foam rubber gasket, and four special stainless #1 phillips pan head screws. The screw threads are #8, and the tips are pointed. The screws are 1.7/16” long under head, of which 1” is a thick shaft, reference images. • The park light housings and lenses are stamped GUIDE, 8T, SAE, IP, 71. The housings and lenses are also stamped LH or RH respectively. In other terms, those lens screws are right. But your mounting screws are wrong. Look online for the right screws.

What he said, but...
If you have a reproduction bumper, getting both mounting screws to line up can be a challenge. I have yet to see a reproduction bumper that has the holes in the right locations.
