later model burb tank?

has anybody ever put a later model burb tank in thier truck and if so what is the largest size tank you could put in, i have access to a 40gallon burb tank out of an 84 model and i am thinking of using it if it will fit, the tank is not here so i cannot measure it right now but what do you guys think about a tank that size, i thought of that size because usually when i drive i drive long distances and could use the extra amount, also would i have to get a different gas gauge in order for it to work properly or what.

I'd try to make it work...

The new burbs have a 50 gallon tank... that'd be neat too!

The Gas Gauge will work the same but the tank wont fit in your frame its waaaay too big i just looked at a blazer tank and measured it I think i needed a 27 inch wide tank to sit in the frame of my 72 and it was like 32 It was hella big I forgot the exact dimensions but i remeber it was too big.

You might do a search. someone used a 34 or 40 gal burb tank on their LB 4x4. They had pics and all of the install. Just can't rember who it was. Probably 6-8 months ago.
