NP205 Speedo delete

I have a 72 Blazer that I recently had a LS swap performed on. I have a leak on the NP205 that I believe is coming from the speedo. I have attached photos. My question is what can I do to solve this. Can I cap it? If so, what size and thread is it? (I have searched and cant seem to find it). Should I remove it altogether and plug it?
Thanks in advance

Re: NP205 Speedo delete

Replace the seal in the adapter. See here: https://www.motorcityk5.com/i-13102-...=category:9415

This is designed to work w a speedo cable of course so may not be the cure. Other guys might have an idea about a possible cap.

Re: NP205 Speedo delete

Replacing the seal in the cable connection may do nothing if the cable is not attached. ORD sells caps. I purchased one as I no longer need the cable speedometer wih my LS swap. Cannot remember which one I purchased for my 72?

Maybe I can check my past purchases?
Sorry. past purchases are gone on my account, maybe call ORD and see which one they recommend?

Re: NP205 Speedo delete

Many of these transfers cases do not have any speedometer seals installed from the factory.
It was ok if they leaked back when, I guess.

I have successfully added seals th the speedometer output.
I would plug it off if you have an electronic speedometer.

In regular speedometers the cable has nothing to do with it leaking or not.
A cap with a seal may help. A screw on thread protector will do nothing.

I don't think there's much of a market for them which explains why they want $40. Much easier ways to make money.

I admire the skill that it would take to crank items like this out and was just curious how it would be done. I'll have to pay a visit to the shop if the border guards will allow me to cross

These could be manually machined in 10 minutes, or <1 minute on a CNC lathe.
Real good profit at $40.

Re: NP205 Speedo delete

You must have been talking bout the hole the speedo gear threads into.
I was just thinking a cap for the speedometer threads on the plug.
So you are correct.

I am only making two.

Will only be a matter of minutes now before the Gestapo swoops in and takes down this thread because God forbid if one member sells something to another member. That's one thing I hate about this site.

Just think, if you made and sold one or two you could actually pay to support this site as a member.

I used to run a site myself and it cost me nothing but time to do, so the answer to your question is NO. Besides, there's not enough traffic here to warrant it.
As I've said before, charge businesses to post ads on here, not individuals trying to build their trucks and sharing the odd part amongst each other.
If Billy wants to sell Bob a bolt for his truck, he should righfully be able to do so without having to pay an extortion fee. I'm sure you agree.
