Gas Cap decal

That decal is not a GM decal. That is a much later government requirement as seen on replacement caps. I would permanently remove it.

2017 Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD, Black, 45k miles, 5.3, 6L80E, 3.42 LS, 20" polished wheels, everything but moonroof and 6.2...

2019 Canyon SLT 4WD, White, 62k miles, 3.6, 8L45, 3.23 LS, 18" wheels

The one I bought faded to clear translucent in less than a year outside. not complaining because I didn't want the sticker on there in the first place, but if a guy did want the sticker on there then be warned it will disappear quickly.

For the money I don’t think I would even try buffing the stainless was more the point . And you have a new gasket too

I'd rather have the older original ones like the OP has. the new ones are a cheap imitation. compare the quality of the steel and the mold on OP's with the gates one. you can just replace the gasket without replacing the whole cap.
