Temp guage rising
About 3 months ago I replaced waterpump, fan clutch, thermostat, hoses. Wednesday this started. The temp goes up to the tick between 210 - 260. It climbs to this but does not literally overheat. I open the hood, the fluid is correct and the motor area does not feel abnormally hot. If I leave it sit for a short time and start again. It will be at 210 mark and then rises again.
Im thinking Temp sensor. Any other ideas... oil is fine, fluid is new and fine... I work in the chemical plants and use my truck. I need my truck dependab

Re: Temp guage rising
I don't now squat about newer trucks but I would check the ground on the temp sensor, specifically if it was installed with teflon tape or some other sealant that would interfere with the ground conductivity. If not, put the sensor in boiling water and read the ohms across the terminals. There should be specs for a normal sender online someplace. -BA

Re: Temp guage rising
Do a sanity check with an infrared thermometer pointed at the thermal sensor in the head and the water pump and then check the radiator where the water is going into it.
If the thermometer matches the gauge then check what the difference is between the water pump and where the top hose goes into the radiator. This should tell you if the thermostat is sticking slightly.
