Question I keep getting logged off grrrrr :=)

Just started yesterday -- whenever I visit the board, I have to log in again. Until yesterday, I always stayed logged in. Did something change, or is there something wrong on my end? Thanks!

Re: I keep getting logged off grrrrr :=)

Same thing here, with a bit of difference.. When I'd try to log in, would tell me improper username or password.. Well since my password "box" is checked "remember me" and I know my username, I suspected a glitch somewhere.. I tried a more few times, and then noticed in the password box, too many "dots".. I backed them out and entered my correct password.. PRESTO!!! I'm in. No accusations toward anyone but obviously my password was somehow compromised although not changed..

Double check and make sure everything is kosher in my login information...

Thanks for the reply. In my case, "remember me" is also checked, and when I click to login, it autofills my username and password, and logs me in -- so my stored info is correct.

Oddly enough, after many logins over the past 2 days, late today the system started keeping me logged in again. No clue why, unless someone found / fixed a glitch without me knowing it. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, Stocker.. The site goes through these glitches about once a month.. Some hacker finds a hole, sneaks in and cause problems.. In my case, I was completely shut out.. The response was my password was wrong. Also said the username I entered was not on record.. When I attempted to contact an administrator, I was told the email address I entered was not associated with any account.. My first thought was I had been banned. I made several attempts to log in over a period of about 4 hours.. Finally, I noticed the extra dots in the password box.. I made the correction and that fixed everything.. It's a mystery to me as to how my password became corrupted, but not actually changed..

That last sentence in my first post was directed to the admins, not you.. Sorry if it caused confusion...

This is likely a cookie issue in your browser it will happen sometimes after the server updates or a change is made. When The Web server is restarted it will not have the correct info for.your cookie and keep logging you until it expires or gets a new cookie, you can delete your cookies for the site and it should reset any logging in issues. Also make sure you use https://67-72chevytrucks.com as it's set to automatically redirect you to the secure version of the site. When it redirects.to.tue secure site it will not see your login on a regular http:// login therefore appearing to log you out.

The password part is likely something on your end also as it's stored in your password manager. The passwords on the site are encrypted in the database and we cannot view them or alter them without fully changing it.

I'll be darned, I never knew this was (or could / should be) a secure site. I added "s" to the "http" on my desktop shortcut. Everything seems to work the same, so I guess (hope) that I did the right thing.

When it comes to computers, I am officially an idiot.
