72 Cheyenne Super Alternator Wiring

Hi, would anyone have a stock (or restored) 72 c10 with a stock alternator hookup that could take a pic of how the factory wiring is hooked up? my wiring harness has a small mounting bracket in the harnesss that connects to the back of the alternator and I just wante to hook it up the right way. Thanks

In that drawing, that sure looks like a Pontiac V8.

This is a 67-72 Chevy truck forum.....that drawing is from the 67-72 Chevy GM truck assembly manual, so maybe they stole it from Pontiac.

They weren't stolen from Pontiac. Pontiac hacked their way in and substituted the drawings to plant subliminal messages in the minds of Chevrolet customers.

Or it could be that since the Pontiac V8 came out a year earlier than the Chevrolet V8 Chevrolet saved some coin and reused the Pontiac drawings. And at that point in time GMC was planning on using a Pontiac V8 in their truck.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Alternator Wiring

1972 is a one year only alternator. Think of it as a hybrid of a 1973 12SI and a 1971 10DN. The 1972 uses the case of the 12SI but still requires an external voltage regulator like the earlier 10DN.

The easiest way to identify a 1972 alternator is the orientation of the electrical terminals.

If you are getting a "Security Token" message that means that your pictures are too big and you need to size them down. I size all of mine down to 1150 pixels wide and the board software can handle them from there.....

That and the speed of your computer and the local internet connection. I had century link though the phone company and could only load one photo at a time and kick me out if I tried to load two or more. Now I have T mobile and I just uploaded these four images and poof they were uploaded. Some of the show coverage photos I do used to take hours to load just the truck shots on here or load a Photobucket or Smugmug album.

This is a little tutorial I made back when for loading photos but I would upload one at a time and maybe two to see what handles as far as uploading without the computer, net or site having a hissy.
