BatteryCablesUSA.com good stuff
Couple years ago I was having difficulty with hot starts. Swapping to 2awg fixed the problem. Fast forward to this past fall and a bad engine fire from a faulty fuel rail. Things got so hot that the battery began to melt. The battery wire i purchase from BatteryCableUSA.com show no damage. That's good stuff.

Re: BatteryCablesUSA.com good stuff
That's awesome to know. I just redid my battery cables in my '70 with 2AWG wire and all the terminal ends and solder supplies from https://batterycablesusa.com Great stuff, fast shipping, and made in USA!

Re: BatteryCablesUSA.com good stuff
Thanks for asking. It sustained major damage. I am retired so I just decided to make it my new full time job. Easily been on it 40 hours a week since early October. Hagerty insurance has been fantastic to work with. They allow self repair. I had 30k stated value. They ended up covering me with 21k. I was good with documentation, they were generous on everything I requested and they reimbursed me for my time as well. I did not bill all the hours I spent simply because I work very slow and also did things outside of damage. Initially I was sad as I spent 18 months getting it just how I wanted it. 3 weeks after completion, a fuel rail/injector connection sprayed the engine bay down and ignited. I lost most everything from the dash in cab to the radiator. It was a very hot fire.

I just re-worked all the cables (power & ground) under the hood of my '99 OBS CCSWB after buying my own tools (hydraulic crimper w/dies). I looked into & considered buying from @batterycablesusa but ultimately decided to purchase things local (2AWG & 4AWG cables) JIC I needed more or make in the moment adjustments. I'll def consider them for the next project. Best of luck on the 're'-rebuild.

Part of my business is making custom winch and battery cables. I can even make side post stuff now. Battery Cables USA has some nice stuff.

Re: BatteryCablesUSA.com good stuff
Having the need to purchase so many parts recently exposed me to some surprises relative to aftermarket parts. Some eye opening disappointments but also nice to see there are still some stand up suppliers out there.

Everything online is advertised as 'great' but we all know in many instances it's a 'not-so-much' reality. I had stuff bookmarked @batterycablesusa but decided to see what I could find local. The local purchase let me know exactly what I would be working with since my window of opportunity was very limited & provided a consistent materials source should I miscalculate (which I did). A quick trip back to my cable source (I used welding cable from Tractor Supply) got the final length of 4AWG I needed for an additional ground the truck never had. BatteyCablesUSA.com definitely would have been cheaper on the cables but I never went so far as to calculate totals including shipping. With your post, I'll probably give them a try when the next opportunity presents itself.

Re: BatteryCablesUSA.com good stuff
.
Thanks for the shout out to batterycablesusa as I had considered them in the past and chose against. I'll use them next time then! Hagerty is indeed very accommodating. I had a claim back in 2019 for no-fault-of-mine collision. 6k claim only but they were fantastic. I understand they'll allow used parts for rebuilding classics after a loss such as yours. I'm with grundy now though...premiums went up slowly and steadily after my claim so had to bail this last renewal period. It wasn't crazy but it was there and pushed me away. YMMV of course... -Kevin
