Fuel pump lever

It's been a awhile, but shouldn't I be able to move this fuel pump lever by pressing down with both hands and my upper body? This brand new one won't move at all.

Re: Fuel pump lever

New ones are stiff but not that bad....try a couple shots of WD-40 and see if that helps.

If in doubt force it!

Re: Fuel pump lever

Well, WD40 didn't help. I'm a pretty big guy, but can't even budge the lever a fraction of an inch. I wasn't quite doing a hand-stand on it, but still.

My truck's current pump works fine, but it has a slight oil leak from a gasket. It's around 10-12 years old, so was thinking I would replace it as sort of a pre-emptive strike. But then again that 10-12 years is probably no more than 10K-12K miles.

Re: Fuel pump lever

Buy a new pump....some new ones had lockup issues just like you have now...

Check the new one at the store....

Make sure it comes with a new gasket
