Using 1973 frame side motor mounts in 1972 frame for BBC swap?

We are thinking about swapping out the SBC for a BBC in the 1972 C20 my son is building. We have a complete 1974 C10 crossmember we are going to swap in to convert it to 5-lug. Being as the 1972 is a one year only motor frame mount I am wondering what issue we would run in to if we used the frame mounts that came with the 74 crossmember. Has anyone done a BBC using 73-87 frame mounts? Any and all advice is appreciated.

Maybe you should proof read what you posted so we can make more sense out of it

I won't even tell how many times I had to run back up here to my house to change something my phone thought I said to correct it so it would make sense Two years ago when I was taking care of my mother after she fell and bunged herself up and I was trying to do this on the phone that was an all too often thing.

Thanks for the thread link. Some good info in there. Only remaining question is how this works with a BBC. Seems like that was the last question of that thread and never got answered.
Mainly I am worried about motor position. Will using the 1974 SBC frame mount move the motor forward into the radiator, or backwards into the firewall? Or will they put it in the correct position? What about tranny position?

Re: Using 1973 frame side motor mounts in 1972 frame for BBC swap?

I can't find the specs but am pretty sure that the front tread width on 73 and up square bodies is noticeably wider than on 71/72. I've got a 71 GMC 3/4 ton and if I didn't use it to tow with I'd be thinking hard about turning it into the 1/2 ton short box that I always wanted but every time I get one someone else wants it more than I did. I've owned three and one of them only for an hour as someone bought it before I even got home with it because he just flat offered too much money for it.
